Our Goals are simple:
- Improve water quality
- Mitigate floods and droughts
- Carbon Sequestration
- Conserve biodiversity
- Increase soil health
- Decrease soil erosion
- Restore and enhance habitat
- Connect people to nature
We plan to achieve these goals through the following programs:
Wetland Restoration and Conservation: Removing invasive species, planting native vegetation, and restoring natural hydrology. Healthy wetlands play a crucial role in filtering water, supporting wildlife, and mitigating floods.
Wildlife Corridor Protection: Create and maintain wildlife corridors. Connecting fragmented habitats to allow animals to move freely. These corridors enhance genetic diversity, prevent species isolation, and aid in wildlife migration.
Clean Energy Initiatives: Adoption of clean energy technologies. Solar panel installations, geothermal, electric only policies. These efforts reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote renewable energy sources.
Pollinator Habitat Restoration: Help establish pollinator-friendly habitats by planting native flowering plants, creating bee-friendly ecosystems, and protecting critical pollinator species. These projects contribute to food security and ecosystem health.
Environmental Education Programs: Support educational initiatives that raise awareness about environmental issues. Programs in schools, community centers, and museums educate people about conservation, climate change, and sustainable practices.
River and Stream Restoration: Efforts include bank stabilization, water quality improvement, and fish habitat enhancement. Healthy waterways benefit both humans and aquatic ecosystems.
Land Conservation and Protected Areas: We plan to enter a conservation trust agreement with a local agency to ensure the long-term protection of natural habitats and biodiversity on and surrounding this property.
Our plan is to share what we learn in order to help educate the public to better understand the fragile nature of our existing environment biodiversity and how to preserve it.
